Today was Dylan's birthday (you can keep your comments and your calculations to yourselves re: the uncanny timing ;)).
No surprises that Dylan was the first to wake up on his birthday. He too got to enjoy streamers and balloons and presents all of his own. We thought it was only fair to match the Furby with a similarly annoying boy toy. Dylan's present quota went up by one when we gave him a 'voice changer'. Did we make good friends with our neighbours that day!
Dylan had a grand time playing with all the kids in the park, some of who were still here from last time. He mastered the art of talking through the voice changer into the walkie talkie and riding at the same time. We had pole position with our caravan site, with uninterrupted access to the park.
Another self-decorated cake was lit up and blown out and cut.
Shortly after, Grandma had to be delivered to the airport for her flight back home. We amused ourselves greatly by lining up with her in the check-in queue, whilst Dylan tested every single different voice on his voice changer on a constant loop. There were many sideways glances from fellow passengers, who only started to relax when they heard him say "Bye, Grandma" in six different voices.
Went into town for a special sushi lunch. Stocked up on some supplies at the supermarket where we ran into some fellow campers. The kids knew each other from the park and amused themselves for a while, chatting away. Start to feel like a local when you run into someone you know down at the shops!
Went back to the campground to finish the day with play and sharing the birthday cake around.
OMG

Ahh, and you even make a guest appearance! Never mind, we are pretty slack in the writing of it! You will have to tell me off-line whether interesting is a good or bad thing. I've heard Broome is nice at this time of year :) xx
